“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” -Alan Watts
Hey all! I’m Jessica, a 23 year old Pennsylvania native who is still trying to figure life out. After a semester of study abroad in Perugia, Italy in 2014, I decided it was time to pursue a different path in life. Upon graduating college I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and there completed a TEFL certification in order to become an English teacher overseas. Now, a year and a half later, here I am living and working as an elementary school English teacher in Ulsan, South Korea. This journey won’t be easy, but I’m ready for the challenges I’ll be facing!
I’ve created this blog as a way to keep friends and family informed about my life here in Korea. I also wish to write about all aspects of my life here to shed light on the fact that living abroad is not always full of adventures that are Instagram worthy. I want people to see both sides to this lifestyle that only a small percentage of Americans decide to take on so that those considering this option know better what to expect. I hope that by providing a realistic point of view I can influence others to just take the plunge if this is a life you wish to pursue!
